Selling Houses Australia Season 12 Episode 2 Recap
A South Australian Home Shines with the Help of the Selling Houses Team
Like so many of Selling Houses Australia properties, this home in Lewiston, South Australia, has terrific potential. Owner Donyal has had the palatial property on the market for five months when she called in the experts, as her need to sell the home became more and more imperative. With banks on the doorstep and a less than the ideal financial situation, she’s keen to sell as soon as possible.
While the home is impressive, sitting on two acres with a pool and formal drive, the gardens are looking un-kept and sparse and the interior dated for today’s buyer’s tastes. With an asking price of $565,000 in a regional area, the property really needs to lift its game. Outside, garden guru Charlie tidies, paints, lays lawn and tiles. With a gorgeous pool area and sprawling lawns, the street appeal has just skyrocketed!
Inside, Shaynna weaves her magic, concentrating on the heavy timber kitchen, giving it a light and fresh look. Turning to the weary lounge and study area, she once again creates a more contemporary feel. New flooring in the living areas, kitchen and study with our Bushlane laminate in “Goulburn River Gum” and Resilience Hybrid in ‘Hinterland Spotted Gum’ with some fresh paint helped immensely. Our Tallinn wool carpet in ‘Rocca Al Mare’ was installed in bedrooms and lounge for a simple but effective update. Finished off with some contemporary styling, including several of our beautiful rugs, the whole home is ready to go!
In an emotional end, the home sold for $565,500, allowing Donyal to move on with her life. What an amazing result by the team. We can’t wait to see what next week brings!
