Those in the Keilor area are about to benefit from the addition of a new Flooring Xtra store. Owners, Sammie and Saher look forward to guiding customers around their new showroom, one which is filled with beautiful samples set to inspire new home builders and renovators alike.

Sammie and Saher have experience and knowledge which will make selecting products and seeking advice a breeze. Together they run the showroom which stocks a beautiful range of both hard and soft flooring styles. With an eye for design and style, they’re more than happy to offer you advice and take you through the ranges. In fact, the whole staff are equipped to provide superior information to help make these big decisions.

The well-appointed showroom accommodates a wide range of styles and budgets and the team take pride in assisting clients with support from the beginning of the project to the very end. Here you will not only find beautiful flooring options such as carpet styles, timber flooring, vinyl flooring , laminate flooring, tiles as well as exclusive ranges of floor rugs and window blinds. A one-stop-shop.

Sammie and Saher welcome you into their showroom at 485A Keilor Road Niddrie. They’re open Monday to Friday, 9AM to 5PM and Saturday from 9AM to 12.30PM. The showroom is now open after a successful grand opening planned on the 19^th of January. See photos below.

What should I consider when choosing a rug for my bedroom?

There are a few things to consider here. Do you want the rug to feel plush underfoot or would you prefer a flatter pile? Do you want the rug to become a feature (with pattern and colour) or more understated? Bedrooms are not incredibly high-traffic spaces so you can afford to choose something like wool or a light colour which you may not, say, in an entryway. Ensure the rug is large enough too, you can see a few different size and placement ideas in our Rug Guide.

What type of rug fibre is the most durable for a busy home?

Rugs fibres are similar to that of carpets and if you’re on the lookout for a durable option, a synthetic fibre like polypropylene is a great idea. Something also to consider is an outdoor or washable rug for those really messy areas of the home!

Can I install carpet myself?

Flooring Xtra stores have dedicated installation teams who are passionate about their job! It’s advised to use professional installers to ensure the correct laying of the carpet but also any pre-installation preparation work that might be needed. Relax and let them do the hard work!
